The Girl Can Play

She is a natural. This was her first game and she just blew me away. She moved the ball all the way down the field and a team mate kicked it in. Woohoo! She now loves running and she is pretty good at it. It was fun for Collin to switch roles and be the cheer leader. She was afraid to fail, but Collin assured her that even if her team lost there would still be treats. That made her happy. Her team won.

This shot makes me think that dance lessons are paying off.

What should we plant?

My husband is a man of many talents. He enjoys working with his hands. This is his latest project. Now we just have to decide what we want to grow and where. We're thinking lots of fruit trees and vines, a waterfall, and fire pit.

First Day of School

I love the confidence on my First Grader's face that was not there on last year's first day of school. My son says he likes Fourth Grade better than all of the rest so far. I'm happy to have survived summer vacation. Now to survive the homework battles.

Huckleberry Picking

I pulled them out of bed at 5:30 A.M. to avoid the heat. They lasted half an hour before they set down their buckets and watched the portable DVD player. The oldest was more interested in hiking than stopping to pick. We managed to pick three batches of jam. We have enjoyed shakes, pancakes, and huckleberry cinnamon rolls.
